It was a pleasure to support such an important charity with event photography at the Room to Read Gala. Spread out over several rooms through the Terminal City Club, presenters spoke about stories of success and ongoing challenges.
Guests moved from room to room and volunteers treated them like VIPs. Then everyone moved into the main room to hear the MC, Sonia Beeksma, introduce the last speakers. Finally at the end of the evening, a charity auction held everyone’s attention as the funds rolled in.

The Room to Read inaugural gala raised $1 million in just one evening! The organization focuses on girls education and children’s literacy in Asia and Africa.
Room to Read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. They work in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments. Together they develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school. This gives young girls the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.
