Some new marketing materials just came in!

It’s time to update those holiday portraits! What better way to do it than with some Santa hats, ‘adult’ egg nog and some really great peeps?

Come on by in your worst Christmas sweater, wear a red shirt or dress like a reindeer; just come looking all Christmas-y.

The high resolution files will be posted for you pronto-quicko. In time to print’em up and mail’em out to friends and family!

In the spirit of giving, please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Vancouver Food Bank Society. They are currently in need of canned meat and fish, whole wheat pasta and rice as well as canned fruits and vegetables. Otherwise a cash donation jar will be available.

The Rio Theatre recently installed a 3D movie projector, adding yet another dimension to this fully restored theatre and state-of-the-art multi-media event space. Corrine Lea, sexually aggressive woman and part owner of the theatre, was kind enough to let us shoot in there on a  moment’s notice for this fun image from my latest photo essay on Vancouver’s burlesque scene. I’m happy to see this image now being used to promote the venue. I also like that the subjects are Burgundy Brixx & The Purrfessor, promoters and allies of the Rio.

I strongly recommend joining the Rio Theatre Group on Facebook to keep up on shows & events, deals and updates. They have cool stuff like midnight shows with costume contests, live bands, theatrical performances, special speakers, live events via satellite and burlesque.

It is amazing how many times Dustin (known affectionately to children as the Purple Pirate) lept with a dancer’s grace for my camera to get this shot. We wanted an urban backdrop so we shot this one fine morning in Yaletown. The hardest thing about composing this shot was Dustin’s leg position in each jump and getting that crazy huge stocking above his head.
